Now we can put the simple rules we have already learned to work on the A string.
The good news is that there are no new note names to memorise.
The natural notes are simply:
A, B, C, D, E, F, G
That is just the first line of the alphabet song. ๐
And we already know our spacing rule:
B and C are one fret apart.
E and F are one fret apart.
Everything else is two frets apart.
So we already have all the tools we need.
Starting with the open A string, simply follow:
A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A
You already know the note names.
Now you are simply learning where they live on the guitar.
Have a look at the map and follow them up the A string for yourself.
