Following Notes Up the B String

Now we can use exactly the same simple rules on the B string.

Again, there are no new note names to memorise.

We already know the seven natural note names:

A, B, C, D, E, F, G

And we already know our spacing rule:

B and C are one fret apart.
E and F are one fret apart.
Everything else is two frets apart.

So once again, we already have all the tools we need.

This time, we simply begin with the open B string and continue through the same seven note names:

B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B

Nothing new to memorise.

We are simply starting from a different place in the same musical alphabet and applying the rules we already know.
